Men’s Cornerstone is a program for men that offers the opportunity to renew and strengthen one's Christian faith. All men are welcomed to experience Cornerstone and to participate in one, two, or all three capacities: as Candidates, as Team Members, and as Alumni.

Candidates – Candidates are invited to attend a 28 hour Cornerstone Experience (from Friday evening to Saturday evening) given by the men of St. Jude Parish and other nearby parishes. The gathering provides an outstanding opportunity to meet and interact with other men in a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment. It is a time to step out of the hustle of daily life to relax, pause, and reflect.

Team Members – All Candidates are invited to join the Cornerstone Team to prepare the Cornerstone weekend experience for the following year. Being on the Team is a commitment of approximately one year. Various roles and talents are needed to organize a Cornerstone experience for 30 men or more.

Cornerstone Alumni – Made up of all former Candidates and former Team Members, Alumni provide prayers and logistic support to Team Members to help ensure a successful Cornerstone experience. Alumni are invited to attend Cornerstone reunions, to listen, to give witness talks, and to attend all Cornerstone Masses. Finally, Cornerstone Alumni are encouraged to participate in other parish ministries.

The Way it Relates to Our Parish Mission and Vision – Cornerstone offers an opportunity of spiritual renewal for the Candidates, a path to discipleship for Team Members, and a life long journey in a community of brotherhood for Alumni.

Roles and Activities of Ministry – Various roles are needed to provide a Cornerstone experience for 30 men or more.

Time Commitment – For Team Members: bi-weekly meetings for 1 year with a break during the summer months, plus some special added meetings. For Candidates: 28 hours from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

Next Cornerstone Experience
Planning has begun for the next Men’s Cornerstone (see our video). We are excited to share it will be held Friday and Saturday, September 11th and 12th, 2020 at the Sacred Heart Spirituality Center. This will be a 28-hour simple gathering of ordinary men sharing experiences and stories, offering an opportunity to renew and strengthen one's faith while growing in Christian community. It will provide time to step back from daily routines and think about things that matter most while meeting and interacting in a non-judgmental environment. Meals and accommodations will be included. Scholarships are available.
 
Arrival time: 5:30pm, Friday, September 11. 
Departure time: 9:30pm Saturday, September 12.
Come for Reflections, come for change. Come! Leave rested, refreshed and renewed!
 
Sacred Heart Spirituality Center
The Cornerstone experience will be held at Sacred Heart which provides a relaxing setting with beautiful lawns and gardens in a wooded area in Newton, New Jersey. It is in this peaceful atmosphere we will come to Encounter God, Illuminate The Heart and Enjoy Peace.
